We&rsquo;re therefore taking positive steps to promote a positive and inclusive culture; we welcome applications from those that identify with these groups to better represent our communities.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Control Operations Delivery Manager</strong></p><p>East Midlands Railway is looking for an experienced and dynamic Control Operations Delivery Manager to lead our Operations Control team within the East Midlands Control Centre (EMCC).</p><p>This is a critical leadership role at the heart of railway operations, responsible for ensuring the safe, punctual, resilient and customer-focused delivery of train services across the EMR network. Working closely with Network Rail, operational teams and industry stakeholders, you&rsquo;ll help foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement within an integrated control environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What You&rsquo;ll Be Doing</strong></p><p>As Control Operations Delivery Manager, you will:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Lead and hold overall responsibility for the Operations Control department, ensuring safe, efficient and successful day-to-day service delivery</li><li>Develop and deliver the Operations Control strategy in line with the direction set by the Head of Control, including delivering on people, process and system change initiatives</li><li>Provide strategic leadership and direct line management to Operations Delivery Managers, ensuring effective real-time management of train services, rolling stock and train crew resources</li><li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional delivery managers, other train operating companies and Network Rail Control counterparts to support operational performance and service continuity</li><li>Ensure operational readiness for extraordinary events, including industrial action, emergency timetables and extreme weather, through effective contingency and continuity planning</li><li>Lead the development, maintenance and communication of operational contingency and business continuity plans</li><li>Represent the business at industry, group and internal meetings and steering groups relating to operational service delivery, timetable changes and wider business projects, programmes and change initiatives</li><li>Ensure incident management, contingency and recovery arrangements are effective, fit for purpose and aligned to KPI targets and business objectives</li><li>Lead and contribute to incident reviews, embedding lessons learned, continuous improvement and industry best practice into operational processes</li><li>Oversee the development and implementation of operational, safety, customer experience and commercial policies and procedures affecting the Operations Control teams</li><li>Maintain accountability for the Control Manual and Professional Controllers&rsquo; Handbook (Operations), ensuring alignment with business and industry standards and consistent application across the Control team</li></ul><p>Ensure operational standards, procedures and briefings are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated effectively across the department</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>We&rsquo;re looking for a resilient and inspirational operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll ideally have:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Excellent leadership and motivational skills, developed through substantial experience within an operational, command and control, or railway environment</li><li>Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience</li><li>Extensive experience in railway operations or a comparable operational sector</li><li>Extensive knowledge of the EMR network and surrounding route geography</li><li>Knowledge of railway IT systems, including CCIL, DARWIN, TRUST, Integrale, TMV, Compass and CIS systems</li><li>Excellent financial, numerical, literacy, presentation and IT skills</li><li>Proven track record of successfully delivering on objectives and KPIs within tight timescales</li><li>Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop effective strategies</li><li>Demonstrated experience of negotiation and influencing at all levels</li><li>Resilient leader with a professional and calm approach, able to perform effectively in high-pressure environments</li><li>Self-motivated and proactive, with a proven ability to initiate and drive activity independently</li><li>Demonstrable problem solving, project management and team leadership skills</li><li>Extensive knowledge of emergency and incident response working arrangements, including JESIP principles and the JDM model</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Defined benefit pension scheme</li><li>Flexible working hours</li><li>Free First Class duty travel and standard leisure travel on EMR and partner networks</li><li>75% national leisure travel discount (for you and dependants)</li><li>Friends and Family EMR discounts</li><li>Access to training and development</li><li>Employee benefits portal and Cycle to Work scheme</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>How to Apply</strong></p><p>&nbsp; Please complete our online application and upload a CV (with personal details removed) as we operate a blind screening process</p>
