    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join East Midlands Railway as a Senior Conductor, based out of our Norwich depot. 

    Senior Conductor’s are responsible for delivering the smooth and safe running of our local train services, ensuring the safety of our train crew and customers remains paramount at all times, whilst providing a high level of customer service. As a Senior Conductor, you will be flexible in your approach to work and strive to provide a seamless customer experience to all East Midlands Railway Customers.

    We are looking for outgoing and courteous individuals, with experience of working in customer facing or retail roles. Your communication skills should be second to none and you are able to easily to identify with customers needs and pride yourself on delivering the highest level of customer care.  We believe that people deserve more than just “good service” but an amazing experience that they will never forget.     Please note that this role is safety critical, and as such it is subject to satisfactory completion of an assessment centre and a medical assessment (including drugs and alcohol screening). 

    If your application is shortlisted, we will invite you to complete a video interview, which we will send you a link for via email to complete.  If your video interview is successful we will invite you to attend an assessment day which we will holding in Norwich on April 1st.

    The assessment day will consist of the following:

    • Psychometric Tests - associated with the safety critical train dispatch process (concentration test and a safety tests)
    • Group & individual exercises 
    • Competency based interview

    We are looking for as many fantastic Senior Conductors as possible to fill our Senior Conductor Talent pool.  If you are successful, but we don't have any immediate vacancies, we still want to employ you!  We will put candidates into a Talent Pool for a maximum of 12 months. This essentially means you passed the recruitment process and we are just waiting for the vacancy to arise to make you a job offer.  Within the 12 months you will not need to re-apply for the position, we will contact you when the vacancies are available for us to make job offers for.
