    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join East Midlands Railway as a Fleet Maintenance Planning Manager (FMPM). The Fleet Maintenance Planning Manager is responsible for the development and coordination of the centralised East Midlands Railway strategic Fleet maintenance and availability plan. The FMPM is imperative to coordinating and validating the maintenance schedule for the EMR Fleet Depots in supporting the agreed service levels for fleet availability. The FMPM will also be responsible for the strategic development of any changes to the fleet plan as a result of planned fleet cascades or infrastructure projects. 

    The Fleet Maintenance Planning Manager responsibilities are:

    • Supporting the development and coordination delivery of a centralised Fleet plan to enable internal and external stakeholders to deliver the overall Fleet maintenance regime efficiently to optimise Fleet availability.
    • Ensure that there is a single common approach to maintenance planning.
    • Lead, develop and coordinate with the Fleet Resource Management Assistant the delivery of fleet maintenance plan for the East Midlands Railway Fleet. 
    • Ensure the fleet maintenance plan delivers efficient maintenance to optimise fleet availability whilst achieving a satisfactory balance for improvement of fleet reliability.
    • Ensure that a constant relationship with the Fleet Resource Management Assistant is maintained to allow cohesion between fleet maintenance plans and the required fleet depot resource plan. 
    • Assist the Fleet Resource Strategy Manager with future projects, such as future fleet cascades both into and out of the business that will affect the fleet plan, the depots and Fleet Deployment team.
    • Work alongside the rolling stock leasing companies to ensure the fleet Level 5 mileage and maintenance plan is aligned to contractual obligations within the supplier agreement, where applicable
    • Maintain an excellent working relationship with the Fleet Resource Strategy Manager, Fleet Delivery Manager and Depot Managers to maintain, develop and review cross functional working relationships and optimise the performance of the wider Fleet Deployment Team.
    • Manage and deliver objectives and projects as directed by your manager to achieve the business plan or associated actions relevant to the function.

    We are looking for someone with great knowledge of the principles of fleet maintenance, planning, management and fleet requirement strategies. You will also need knowledge of depot maintenance and planning processes, it would also be beneficial to have knowledge of EMR routes and operations. You will be self motivated, an excellent communicator and have the ability to analyse data and implement changes based on the information.
